Larry MacQueen Fellowship Award
Larry was a championship debater in high school and college and was often given the task of writing and presenting information for the district. The Lansing Educational Advancement Foundation was lucky to have Larry as a member of their board for more than 12 years. During his service to LEAF he was master of ceremonies for all of our Talent Shows and Wharton Showcases…no one could have done it better and with more enthusiasm. We will long remember Larry swinging out onto the Wharton Stage on a rope to open the show as well as the time that he got the “wave” going for the audience during intermission in the William Helder Hill Auditorium. In addition, to Larry’s communication expertise he was also an avid photographer donating phenomenal lighthouse pictures to be auctioned off at both the LEAF Art Auctions and for the Ebersole Foundation. Larry also acted as the parliamentarian for the Lansing Board of Education keeping them on the straight track with Roberts Rules of Order. Larry was one of those generous, creative, and talented individuals who you considered very lucky to call your friend.
